All these devices are connected to servers through cables. This kind of setup is more stationary in nature with less flexibility. However, a Mobile Point-of-Sale/Point-of-Service (mPOS) system is a smaller transaction system which can be deployed wherever a business transaction needs to be processed. An mPOS devices can be a smartphone or dedicated wireless device which can perform the functions of a cash register or POS terminal wirelessly. To implement an mPOS system, quite frequently, cellular telecommunication technology is used to build up an internet connection which is needed to carry out the business transaction and store the customer information and transaction data on the server.
