
Co-Fired Multilayer Piezo Actuators
Unictron offers a broad range of multilayer piezoelectric actuators in chip and stack form factors, meeting the requirements of a wide range of precision control and sensing applications.
Co-fired multilayer piezo actuators are fabricated from stacked piezoceramic layers featuring full-surface internal electrodes. These actuators convert electrical energy into highly controllable mechanical displacement and are well suited for nano- and micro-positioning applications requiring rapid and accurate positional changes.
The insulation and electrode termination concept of co-fired piezo actuators differs from that of discrete piezo stacked actuators. Compared with the insulated gaps used in discrete stack actuators, the co-fired structure offers a larger effective electrode contact area and a higher active piezoelectric material utilization ratio, which helps reduce internal stress and improves long-term stability.
